FALL in love with New Braunfels this season!

Wurstfest Kicks Off Friday, November 6 and We're Just Down the Road
If you've stayed with us before but never made it to Wurstfest, this is your year. New Braunfels' "Salute to Sausage" runs ten days, November 6 through 15, and is just a 20-minute drive down scenic River Road. It's been going since 1961, and around here it feels less like a festival and more like a big family reunion. Polka bands in the Wursthalle, sausage and strudel, a beer stein in one hand, and a stranger teaching you the chicken dance. You'll leave a little more German than you came.
The best part? Fernweh is a short drive from the festival grounds. Spend the day eating your way through Schnitzel and BrezelWurst, then head back down River Road where the only noise is the Guadalupe rolling by. Sink into the heated hot tub, pull a chair up to the fire pit, and do it all again tomorrow. Quick local tip: parking near Landa Park fills up fast on weekends, so grab a rideshare, and if you can swing a weekday visit, the crowds are much lighter.
There's still time to plan a last-minute trip. BOOK YOUR STAY and use code SOCIAL15 for 15% off.
River Road After Summer Ends
Summer on River Road means tubes, coolers, and a few more people. Come November, the tubers head home, the traffic thins, and you can easily pull out onto River Road. The cypress trees along the Guadalupe start turning that rusty orange, and the whole river slows down right along with you.
It's our favorite time of year out here, and New Braunfels goes all out for the holidays. The weekend of November 20 is a good one to circle: Main Plaza lights up Friday the 20th as Santa makes his arrival. Then head over to Weihnachtsmarkt, our German-style Christmas market at the Civic Center, open November 20-22. On December 3, Wassailfest takes over downtown. Grab a cup of warm spiced wassail (leaded or unleaded, your call), listen to the school choirs, and knock out a little Christmas shopping.
Come for the events, then retreat to Fernweh for the quiet. There's nothing like ending a busy night in town around the fire pit or soaking in the heated hot tub with nothing but the sound of the river. PLAN YOUR OFF-SEASON GETAWAY
Bring the Whole Family Home for the Holidays
We all love a house fulL for the holidays, right up until there's a line for the bathroom and somebody's uncle ends up on the couch for four nights. That's where Fernweh comes in. With 21 cabins and cottages across our Hillside and Riverfront properties, your group can book a cluster side by side. Everyone gets their own space, their own bed, and their own coffee pot, but you're still only a few steps from each other.
When it's time to come together, there's plenty of room to spread out. Pull the picnic tables together for a big family meal, start a flag football game on the rec field, or settle the family pickleball rivalry once and for all. After dark, gather everybody around the fire pit for s'mores and stories while the grown-ups sneak off to the heated hot tub. Bring the family pups too. We offer dog friendly cottages, and there's a fully fenced dog park so they can run off some energy. And the kids will want to say hi to Fritz and Fritter, our two resident goats, who are always happy to see new faces. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, or just a long weekend, it's all the togetherness without anyone stepping on toes.
Ready to plan? BOOK ONLINE or call us at 830-226-7110 or email hello@stayfernweh.com and we'll help you put together the right mix of cottages for your crew. Don't forget code SOCIAL15 for 15% off.
